I liked the imagination and concept behind this story but it was more like a short story than a book. I enjoyed the read but it really left too much out and didn't have enough detail for me to truly enjoy it. I would probably read part II if it is a reasonable price and hopefully it will give everything that the prequel is missing. I liked the characterization --the people became almost real to me. I used to work in a mental hospital so I imagined the story happening there as I read--that part really came alive.

And that's a good thing. Short, sweet tease that gives you everything in a quick kick. A kick that comes in the dark.

This is a thinly veiled commercial for the upcoming series.
The writing isn't bad, but the author makes no attempt to explain anything. I had a hard time believing the main character's screaming fits. If you can get past that, you'll find more questions than answers. Very irritating. I am just glad that I didn't pay for this. I will not be reading the next book in the series.

Loved this book. It was so well written. I actually could not put the book down. I got to the end of it and was shocked not to find answers to the diagnosis plaguing the young women. What did the doctor determine about her mental and physical stability? I found just too many what happens next.My Soul to Lose

I never knew Harlequin had a teen series. Maybe it's new. In any case, I found this author's writing to be really good and wasn't disappointed that the book was so short, considering it's a prequel for her series. Plus, the book was free on my Kindle and I read it in one sitting. Even though it was meant for teens, I'll read the sequel myself and recommend it for my daughters. It had me hooked. Hey, a ton of people read Twilight, too!
